Been a very sad week as I had to take Misty to the vet for the last time. Had her over twelve years, after she retired from her racing days. Quite a rapid decline since May, which has been incredibly stressful but I’m so glad to have been able to say goodbye to her. She was my best friend and my companion on all of my hikes during my health issues over the last few years.
RIP Pontop Mystique, 2006-21
Normal service resumed next week.
Take care,
Ed
So sorry to read about Misty. Non pet owners don’t realise how much they are part of our lives. I lost my gorgeous toy poodle last year and I was devastated. I never thought I would get another dog but Oscar fell into my lap but he isn’t a replacement for Pip - he could never be replaced and will always have that special place in my heart. I still think of him often. I hated FB memories for a while when they came up with posts about him as he was such a comical character but now I love them and can smile.
I guess what I am trying to say is that it does get easier - it might sound like a cliche but it’s true. You will always miss her but the good memories are what gets you through x
